The Cool Club is a collective of creative minds, making cool things, inspired by some of the most influential people, places and products of our time.
It all started with a game of cards, a group of friends and our love for really beautiful design.
One day an Art Director, a Copywriter, a Retail Manager and a Designer began dealing a deck of cards over beers. After a few rounds of exchanging the usual suits, we were bored.
‘How can we make this better?’ we asked.
And, so the idea to create a card game we liked was born.
We developed our concept around a card deck that featured some of the most distinctive characters in modern history and within 2 months our first prototype was not only available to purchase, but actually sold out.
That first deck focused on iconic men before we realised we were overlooking a lot of incredible and powerful women, so we launched a second deck featuring awesome females. The two decks eventually merged into one streamlined deck of extraordinary humans, our heroes, and became an overnight success.
During the development of that first deck a really cool illustration style, that people went crazy for, started to emerge. As Artists we felt called to explore it further. After all, a creative is never content! So we launched the Animal deck, and then diversified into illustrations and personalised prints.
The future of The Cool Club is in your hands. Our mission is to continue to make cool things that celebrate the fun, the frivolous and the down-right profound and curate an ambitious, driven community of gifted creatives that want to be better and do things differently.
In the words of Steve Jobs, ‘Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes… the ones who see things differently — they’re not fond of rules… You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things… they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.’
